Publishing this list is just my way of keeping myself organized, prioritized and accountable.

Completed. 1) Due South Seekrit Santa entry due December 20th, min words 1k.
I'm so pumped for this, when I got my prompts I realized I have a story idea I started fifteen years ago that I had already written a few pages for and that it would easily fit into one of the prompts. So I dusted it off, and have been smacking it into shape. Man, my writing was... yeah. Let's just say I've improved significantly in fifteen years.

1) Fanvid. Why did I add this to my to do list? Because the muse hit me when I heard a song from a certain performer who was on this years broadcast of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and no, they weren’t being inducted.

2) The 'F' Word.
The plot bunny that most recently jumped up and grabbed me by the throat. So I put a gun to my own head to get it done by electing to publish it by chapter, and what the hell was I thinking when I chose to do that? But so far the reception has been amazing, and I have it plotted out over 10 chapters, and have the second chapter almost finished, so not the end of the world?

3) Caroline, Buck, Bob Fic
Currently in second draft, I sent out to alpha readers, and already got back some great feedback. I love this concept so much, but I really want to do it justice. The dialogue flew out of me, but I've been struggling with writing detail lately to flesh out scenes.

4) DS C6D BigBang 2026 Fic, min words 20k.
Yeah, I got stuck in the middle of this one, the muse was not musing in 2025. So I'm going to try for next years challenge, at least I have a head start this time. I think I might need to gut the story a bit, and do a bit of a re-write. Oi. But I have time at least.

5) Right Beside You, Miles Away series
I have the final story of the trilogy halfway written, just got bogged down trying to make the intro just right. Trying to match my own freeform poetry style is a bit weird, especially when I have no idea what I'm doing half the time and just winging everything by 'vibes' alone.

6) Rando ficlet, 'Confines'
So many of my fic ideas come from dreams, and this one did as well many months ago. Sitting currently at just under 900 words. Certainly not the first, nor will be the last rando story to get added to this never ending WIP list.

7) Into The Fire series
Starting to think this series might get thrown so far onto the back burners it may blip out of existence, yet my mind comes back to it every so often. I think my younger self bit off more than I can chew now. I'm unsure if I can change the format of the series this far in, but I would love to make it more into a series of short stories strung along a long over arching plot line. It may be feasible with a little finagling down the road.

too many WIPs IS a good problem, imo!

THAT is why too many WIPs is a good thing! I have pinch hit for dSSS multiple times and all but twice, was able to use long back-burnered WIPs (sometimes as old as the one you mention!) to get started quickly and finish fics to my own satisfaction.

>>The plot bunny that most recently jumped up and grabbed me by the throat. So I put a gun to my own head to get it done by electing to publish it by chapter, and what the hell was I thinking when I chose to do that?<<

You were literarily ambitious? You thought having it out there already would motivate you to complete it? You were trying for a different kind of accountability? I don't know, but it's brave! I only did that a million years ago in the 90s before AO3 on my own LJ. I don't think I could do that now - so I'm impressed that you did! Plus it sounds interesting just from the title. :-)

>> Caroline, Buck, Bob Fic<<

I so look forward to seeing that one, whenever it's done. Happy to beta it too, just FYI...

That's the nice thing about the dSBB - no penalty for not finishing. Yay!

>>Right Beside You, Miles Away series <<

OK, so I'm slow on the uptake (and about a bajillion notices behind on AO3 fic postings, my RSS feed for AO3 Fraser/Kowalski, etc.)... but I just read the first part and love it. Looking forward to the second fic (and whenever the third part is ready), too.

>>Rando ficlet, 'Confines'

Interesting - I rarely get inspiration from dreams, largely because since I first got on antidepressants (at age 20, 38 years ago), I never or very, very rarely even remember them. (I assume I do dream; everyone does, so I've read; I just recall no dreams at all on waking, unless I'm awakened right in the middle of dreaming, which is super rare. Can't go off the meds; it's hereditary, and much worse on the side of the family it comes from - so I guess I'm just stuck not dreaming/recalling dreams, sigh.)

So I'm always impressed by people who not only dream, but remember their dreams - let alone are inspired creatively by their dreams! Will look for this, when it's available.

>>Into The Fire series

Will check this out. Haven't yet, but seeing the tags of the first part... intriguing, yay! After I finish the Right Beside You, Miles Away series, I'll get to this series.

I would say too many WIPs is - what's that term? "An embarassment of riches" - that's the phrase I wanted, lol! I have so many WIPs (too many) but I've found them helpful at crunch times (like pinch hits) and even come back to them years (...decades, in some cases!) later to finish them. I am sure that you will too!

Good luck!
